鼠婦又稱土鱉或潮蟲，是軟甲綱中唯一完全適應陸地環境的生物，與長達30分分的巨型深海大虱為近親，它們以樹皮或落葉堆中的腐敗有機質為食物，是琥珀中少見的生物，通常尺寸不到半公分，超過一公分者極為罕見，遇危險時會蜷縮呈半球狀以外層甲殼自衛。
Woodlice are the only organism in Malacostraca that can completely adapt to the terrestrial environment. Closely related to giant isopods as long as 30 cm, they feed on bark or rotten organic ingredients in fallen leaves. They are rarely seen in amber, usually in a size of less than 0.5 cm. There are very few in length of more than 1 cm. They will coil to be a hemisphere in danger and defense themselves by the outer crust.
